The use of Recreational Water craft is a very fast growing sport in today’s world. Not many guidelines are in place to promote safety especially for those who use Kayaks, Canoes, & Other small craft. The inherent danger rises from the fact that Kayaks for example have an extremely low profile – typically 2 ft or less above water - making them hard to be seen at even the best water conditions. This is clearly a major safety problem for everyone on the water, including power and sailboat operators, personal watercraft operators, Lobstermen, Fishermen, and Sea planes and most certainly the Kayaker. This signaling device is a two-piece unit made of high impact plastic; with a florescent fiberglass mast with a sewn sock florescent pennant flag .The mounting kit contains epdm rubber washers, and a stainless steel hardware kit. This creates an interlocking system, which provides a secure mount to the deck, but allows the user to quickly and easily remove and reattach the flag mount without tools, also, when the flag mast is hit, the upper conical section will pop off and be retained by a safety strap to be popped back on, with no loss of the flag .This piece also has molded grips incorporated to help lock and unlock the base from the mount. Another feature of this product is that the flag assembly can be easily detached from the base and used as an emergency hand held signaling device. This product will hopefully help promote a safer environment for those who use the waterways for recreation

The Rispy was used this year during our 2006 paddle for Pine tree camp. With some 150 boats on the water, it was very important that I could identify my safety personal. What I found with the Rispy was that I could identify each safety person from a very long distance. This product made that possible.

Great Product, Will help me to be seen when crossing a main shipping channel in New York, and would prove to be a necessary accessory for Kayaks
